I am a big proponent of taking a hundred shots, to get The One. The One is the best picture, of the group, and hopefully of the moment, period. Once you have this epic image, then you can blow it up to a large size. Nothing says contemporary like a nice big wall, with a beautiful large print.
I of course have been through a lot of frame styles throughout the years. I enjoy the large black wood frames. They look very refined with a lot of wood furniture in the house, it is very classic. I also discovered a great company, that is right here in Portland.
Plywerk is in North Portland, a very cute group of people, who love what they do. They mount photos on Bamboo and Maple. The result is a amazing product. It is contemporary and fun. It really adds a lot of color to the room, because the photo is flush with the sides.
If you have a wall in mind, take a tape measure and measure out, 20x24. That is pretty big. It will be making a statement. The next big size is 16x20, then it can go down to 11x14. I think one big print de-clutters the home, and then the photo can really stand out.
